Taig Jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1

A group of Chinese developers have released a new jailbreak called TaiG for iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 beta. The tool will apparently jailbreak any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that can run iOS 8.1.1 and existing iOS 8.2 beta versions, as well as earlier releases of iOS 8 software. Apple strongly advises against jailbreaking, and reserves the right to void warranty service to any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that has been modified with such a tool, making this a procedure that is best avoided by average iPhone users.

At the moment the TaiG application runs exclusively on Windows, and it’s unclear when or if an OS X release would arrive. Nonetheless, Mac users who are compelled enough to want to use the tool would need to have Boot Camp or Windows installed in a virtual machine to run the TaIG utility and jailbreak their iPhones or iPads. The jailbreak itself is untethered and only requires a USB connection to perform the initial install.

Jailbreaking is best reserved for advanced users who understand the full risks and potential ramifications of using an unauthorized and unsupported third party utility to modify their iOS software. Apple is fervently opposed to jailbreaking for a variety of reasons that should be well understood.

Those interested can find the TaiG utility to download on the developers website here, the tool is currently offered in Chinese language, though it looks like the usage is fairly straightforward and similar to the Pangu utility.

Always back up your iPhone or iPad before attempting to use any utility that modifies iOS software.
