Bill Gates, a man who on his own wields an impressive megaphone, will make use of a bit of a different platform next month.
The Microsoft-co founder, fresh off the release of an ambitious list of human development goals in an annual letter released this week, will guest edit technology and science site The Verge in February.
What does that entail, you ask? Here’s The Verge:
Throughout February, Bill will be narrating episodes of our animated series The Big Future to explain and illustrate his vision. We’ll also be publishing in-depth features examining how rapid change in health, farming, banking, and education might improve the lives of impoverished communities around the world.
That clearly seems designed to complement the work he’s already up to in guiding the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s efforts to solve some of the world’s most serious poverty-related issues. And doesn’t indicate Gates will be copy editing the site or anything incredibly time intensive, leaving him free to continue to spend 30% of his time (the specific figure repeated to the press) at Microsoft offering input on the company’s technology.
