Energizer's Energy Hardcase phones keep going and going http://revealedtech.com/tips-solution/energizers-energy-hardcase-phones-keep-going-and-going/

LAS VEGAS -- Earlier this week during CES 2015, Energizer showcased a prototype line of durable cell phones and smartphones. Known mostly for its batteries, the company unsurprisingly touted the handsets' long-lasting battery capacities. The devices are manufactured by DDM Brands and will be part of what Energizer calls its Hardcase series of phones.

There are four phones altogether -- two feature and two smart -- and they're called the Energizer Energy 200, 240, 400, and 500. All of them sport an industrial, rugged design that feel heavy in the hand. The 400 and 500 smartphones will both launch with Android 4.4 KitKat, are dustproof, and satisfy IP68 waterproofing standards.

The 400 has a 2,500mAh battery and a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek processor. It also has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The higher-end 500 has a 3,000mAh battery that Energizer reps say last twice as long as the Apple iPhone 6. The handset also has a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU, a 13-megapixel camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Unfortunately, no pricing or availability date were released. Currently, there are a number of rugged handsets available on the market, like Kyocera's Dura series. However, with brand-recognition working towards Energizer's favor in association with battery quality, new users may find its Hardcase series enticing enough to try the devices out.
